Bitton Station ”Right on Time”

£580.00

Bitton Railway Station is the setting for this painting , Right on Time as the train pulls in . Now a preserved line, The Avon Valley Railway has restored the station and with a visit you can once again hear the hiss of steam as you stand on the platform . This piece took 47 hours, not including research time. The locomotive, an Ivatt 2MT-A number 41243 was made in Crewe in 1949. I chose this one because she was used on this line and more personally, she ended her career at Templecombe Shed, on the Somerset and Dorset. I have depicted her at Bitton station in South Gloucestershire. I would like to thank the Avon Valley Railway for some late research material which helped me with this piece.
